NOTE: I am not trying to promote my business.

The first thing I did was researched everything about Web Marketing there was to know. I've learned so much that I consider myself a marketing expert. Therefore, I started a business.

Anyway, to the real post.

I started with SES (Search Engine Submission), first I did the free submissions to "thousands" of engines, but later realized it was a hoax. Then I found links to each and every major search engine for manual submission. This way was more effective.

The next thing I did, since I do not major in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and cannot place a website at the top, was doing simple things to make search engines notice my website. For example, optimizing the pages.

After that, I took a big risk and went for "guaranteed hits" and surprisingly within the first week I gained two customers. That's not including afterwards, in which I will say it wasn't too shabby. (Not guaranteed, but it's a thought for everyone)

Anyway, I still promote my website monthly, as I recommend to everyone, otherwise people will stop knowing about it as new businesses come and go.

Thanks for viewing, I hope I helped someone.

the trick to doing well (in my opinion) is to find someone who is skilled and honest and then latch onto them and look at the people referencing them and the stuff they reference.

bypass the quick and easy buck bullcrap and follow those who seem like they aim to honestly help.

Seth Godin is certainly a bit self promotional in his words, but paying to go to his office and hang out for the day was one of the best things I ever did.
