Well, since this is the "showing off" forums..

I'm used to selling poker chips to consumers across Canada...typically a set of 500 chips for people to use in their basement home type games.

Recently, I got an order for 40,000 poker chips, and "up to 150,000-200,000" over the next year or so.

Turns out, they are opening a chain of "casino career schools" training people to work in the casino industry (deal poker, roulette etc) and they chose yours truly to be their supplier.

Because of this order, I've been dealing directly with the company that makes them in Taiwan, not only will I be able to drop my prices for my customers, but I'll also be able to become a wholesaler for Canada and supply chains of stores like "Dufferin Games Room" which have locations across the country :)

In about 7-9 weeks, I'll be getting about 300,000 poker chips...hrmmmm...where am I gonna store all this?? :)

That is a lot of poker chips, and what a nice sale. I live in Canada also so I mean that huge to get into Dufferin Games Room. I must say that is great and I am happy for you. :)

This sounds unbelivable! It probably feels like its Christmas all the time, isn't it? Heh, it probably feels better than Christmas!

Congratulations on your success. Definitely you found a great niche and its good to see its working out for you. You are the first person I know who sell casino chips, so its good to know someone who I can refer people to in case of such product requests.

Best,

Thanks a ton guys!

It's a very exciting time for me. I went into this myself 7 months ago knowing it was a very niche market, but I also knew there was no other site like mine based in Canada.

After visiting many poker rooms/clubs in Ontario, I knew there had to be at least a moderate enough interest to keep the biz at least floating with it's head above water, figured it would be a nice hobby.

With a little luck and a lot of work, perhaps I'll be able to quit my dayjob in a year?

Probably not a good idea to do considering how the market is right now, but a guy can dream :)

Thanks again, guys!
