I don't know if I'm in the right place, but I've exhausted my search in finding anything. Thanks for any help you can give.

I have worked as site manager for two years at an online gaming site. I have been instrumental in developing the site, taking it from the initial stage to a very successful site to date. I have put in long, long hours and unwaivering loyalty. I've never taken a day off (yes, I have worked 24/7 for two straight years). My boss has--to date--admired my work, bestowed great kudos and basically made me feel really good about the work I've done.

Monday, January 10, my computer crashed. It took me a week to get back online. During this week, I emailed my boss and told him I was offline and unable to do my required work, to please have someone else do it. I also emailed him several times (from a neighbor's computer) about my progress in getting back online.

When I finally got back online, I IMed him, saying I was back online, and asking if he had time to talk about what I had missed. I received no answer from him. After several attempts, I contacted another employee who is in the office. She told me he didn't want to speak to me at that time. Shortly afterward, I received an email from him stating that he was dissatisfied with my behavior and would get back to me on January 31st about 'what he was going to do with me.'

I wrote him back stating my astonishment and that I thought putting me on hold for two weeks was totally unprofessional. He simply wrote back and said, 'I will talk to you on the 31st. How much more professional can I be?' That was the last I heard from him. In the interim, my loyal emloyees have told me all my duties are be relegated to others, and things don't look good.

My question....Was his handling of this situation professional? Is there an ethical issue involved here?

Thanks for your help.
