Hello,

My first web-hosting company, and almost my last! I was with Dollarhost for not even a year before I bailed on them. They not refunding any money to me. Every month they were down for atleast 5 hours (if it was a good month) and I would E-mail them saying my site down, but they always made sure there website was up. It made me sick! Any how... when I found a new host will to help me Jatol I jumped and left Dollarhost. I thought okay fine they are all gone no more dealing with them, WORNG! I had to first fight them to change the DNS for my domain name.. they would not let me do it my self AHH! Then when I needed to renew it, they wouldnt help me unless I went threw them. They would just not reply. So I was forced to get a new domain name.

My best advice is stay away from www.dollarhost.com! There prices are to steep for what your getting, the support is crap, and they dont care most of all!

Thank you,
Isaac Meals

Does not sound like fun at all!

5 hours means their maximum uptime per month is 99.3056%, which is a big no-no.

The really bad thing is that they did not respond to you about your domain ussues. What if you owned a popular name or had a big business going!! What kind of customer support do they have? If any at all? Boy, would I have been mad at them if they took my domain as a hostage like that.

So here is the lesson: Never let web hosting companies register your domain names. Take control of your own domain - its easy and most often more cheaper.

Hope you settled for a better host now. ;)

My 2 cents: 5 hours is noticeable when its 5 hours straight. If its like a minute here and a minute there. Stuff happens. With that said. A few minutes isn't too bad. Hours can be bad. I actually dropped my 100% uptime yesterday for 7 minutes for a ram upgrade, which I don't regret.

Heh. whats this post about? oh right. anyways. yea 5 hours is bad. and it's always good to have good tech support. The part about not being allowed to use your domain is pure crap if you paid for it you should have full access to it.
